Home Learning (COVID-19)
Now that the Easter holidays have finished, we return to our Home Learning. We want to reassure parents that when we return to school, as teachers we will be very mindful of the gaps that children may have in their learning and will ensure that these are addressed. We all need to balance children's mental health, their feelings and attitudes with the expectation that learning will continue at this time. We all need to do what we can to continue children's learning so that we can minimise these gaps forming.
Please find attached our Learning Log with Maths, Reading and Writing for this week as well as the new Pick and Mix Selection which will again span over the next four weeks. As before the Easter Holidays, I will be monitoring Class Dojo, approving Portfolio posts, providing feedback to help your child as well as sharing learning on Class Story which I hope will inspire you and your child further. From this week onwards, Learning Logs have been combined to create a Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 version, a Year 3 and Year 4 version and a Year 5 and Year 6 version. We have introduced this streamlining to balance the demands in school as well as with Home Learning and other work that we as teachers have to do. The Learning Logs have been written using National Curriculum objectives for each year group, with support and challenge built in.
We have taken on board feedback from parents regarding the Learning Log completed form. We want to maintain strong communication between ourselves and yourselves as Parents and Carers, but we recognise your need to balance this with other commitments. Therefore, please either return the completed Learning Log form by email each Friday or, if you prefer, upload the highlights of your child's learning using the Portfolio on Class Dojo.
