As part of Robins’ learning about Special Times, David arrived with a picture of a special candle in his bag. Robins learned all about the Jewish Festival, Hanukkah and even made their own 9 candle Menorah with lots of extra maths and fine motor skills built in! ๐๐๐๐
Magpie and Owl Classes were treated to an amazing introduction to the Harp with musician Lizzy Hart. She explained the different techniques whilst playing a variety of songs and we loved joining in with an early Christmas Song. Thank you so much to Make the Sunshine for enabling this fantastic experience.
Nightingales were inspired on @MichaelRosenYes Day to create their own books with Michael’s given first sentence ‘There is a balloon going down the street’ . The children were so engaged in their writing and were very proud of their books. #michaelrosenday ๐โ๏ธ๐๐๐ #aspiration
Four of our St Aldhelm’s mathematicians travelled to Wells Cathedral School for the Primary Maths Festival. They loved the challenge, the creativity of ‘The answer is 12’ poster competition, collaborating together, as well as the amazing school cake! #belief #aspiration ๐๐โโโ๐ฐ๐งฎ๐ฐ๐
Our Cross Country Team travelled to Downside School today for the second race of the season. They looked superb in their new BAA shirts and ran with fantastic belief in themselves. Well Done Team.
Our Reception Robins this week have been inspired by fireworks this week. They have been creating fireworks in many different ways using mark making and even a salad spinner. #belief ๐๐๐จ๐
The creativity continued for our Key Stage One classes on Monster Kick About Day. Nightingales and Magpies
designed, made and evaluated a trophy. They chose if they wanted to work collaboratively or independently and they have created wonderfully unique trophies! #belief ๐๐๐
A truly fantastic Monster Kickabout Day @MKickabout. St Aldhelm’s children took part in a wide variety of activities including making trophies, designing mascots and kits, creating number shirts. Everyone also worked on their skills and played some games too. #belief ๐โฝ๏ธ๐
Each half term, we invite families into school to share their children’s learning in a Learning Showcase. Children love being able to show the adults at home their learning and parents can see and celebrate the progress they have made. #aspiration
St Aldhelm's travelled to Strode College for the School's FA tournament. It was also the first local derby of the year with St Aldhelm's vs St Vigor & St John!
