Year Six - My Favourite Meal, Summer 2008

My favourite meal - by Giles

Two courses pass; I'm full to the brim. But as the oven opens, the delicious smell wafts forward. Beckoning me. Sitting there, it stares at me, luring me to take a massive slice of its chocolatey goodness. I give in. Take one huge slice, the crumbs falling like rocks in a landslide. I raise it up to my awaiting lips. Open my mouth…and BANG! A huge explosion runs through me; my hairs have been awakened.

First, I feel the creamy dark-brown deluxe soothe my lips, then the smooth layer of sponge makes the middle chocolate ooze out, acting like a tidal wave over my tongue. Then the final sponge collapses. The climax is complete. Yet it still sits there, staring, and I can't resist going back for more.

My favourite place - by Tavish

My favourite place is a little island at the end of my river. It is small and quiet. Sheltered by a tree, it is where I go when I am angry or feeling agitated. I feel almost trapped when I am here because the branches feel like they are consuming me. To most people it is nothing but an island, but to me it is my anger spot; it calms me down however angry I am.

The branches cover me like a waterfall. All I can see are branches everywhere, except in front of me there is a metal grating with a brown tube descending off the wall. That is the only way I can escape.

It is just a couple of bricks and mud, but it is home to me. The one thing I love about my island is, no matter how much I hit, it always seems to grow back and forgive me.

A dream world - by Rowan

When I go to my dreams anything can happen. Enjoyable things; treacherous things; or amazing things. My thoughts travel on clouds and collide with each other to make dreams. My dreams give me courage and confidence. I fall asleep and drift through a tunnel. Winding corners and twisting pathways I travel, until I reach a grand hall where there are one million doors. Each night I go through a different door that leads to me to places that no-one else has ever been to before.

Some worlds I visit are colourful and have music playing day and night. Some worlds I see myself as an adult, with a family; and other worlds are silent and make me feel alone.

I adore going to my dreams, as they take me to different dimensions. My dreams are as unpredictable as a roller coaster and are as wild as a jungle.

My favourite place - by Emily

Lying on the roasting patio; the tiles warming my back, like the lizard on the wall next to me bathing in the heat of the sun. The smell of basil and mint waft towards me as the sun releases their aromas.

I can hear the crickets next to me, singing their song of summer, whilst the bees dance with the flowers below the hedge.

Now, I'm in the pool; the cooling water against my skin soothes me. The wind rushes past, refreshing my flushed cheeks.

I look up. I am surrounded by sunflowers, their golden yellow petals almost blinding me.
