Y6
class history trip to Caerleon - Roman Fortress Isca
Towards
the end of Term 2 we all got up very early to catch a coach to Wales.
We spent the day at Caerleon, a small town just outside Newport, which
stands on the remains of one of only three Roman Legionary fortresses
built in Britain. It was an action-packed day that involved lots of
looking, listening, questioning and getting hands-on.Find
out what we thought of the day and what we learnt by following the links

These are really useful websites that we will be using in class to help
with our research:
We have had
a busy start to the year, and have settled in to working routines quickly.
Our first terms work has had a geography and PSHE focus on Clothing
and Footwear. We have learnt about how we are connected to the rest of
the world through our clothing, finding out how clothes are made and what
life is like for the people who make them. To tie in with this work, we
have gained hands-on experience of being footwear manufacturers! We have
designed and made slippers for DT and are busy at the moment creating
Powerpoint presentations in ICT to showcase our work.

As
part of our link with our school in France, we all created pastel self-portraits,
designed to show our character and interest. We sent the originals to
France and are looking forward to receiving their portraits soon. Katie's
self portrait is on the right.
