4th May
2007
Dear Parents,
A wonderful
opportunity has come our way to take a group of 32 children down to Wells
Cathedral to take part in the Cathedral’s Music Festival, on the Thursday,
7th June.
We are currently
learning the songs on Wednesday mornings as a whole Key Stage 2 but because of
the limit on numbers, we will just be taking children from Year 5.
This will involve two
trips. The first will be to St Paul’s Junior School, in Shepton on Thursday
24th May, from 1.30pm till 3.00pm for a practice with
other schools who are taking part. Because of the closeness to school and to
save costs, we will be walking down the hill over lunchtime, taking a packed
lunch. You can pick your child up from
The second trip will
be to Wells Cathedral for the actual festival on Thursday, 7th
June. Our workshop runs from 1.00pm – 3.30pm (approx). This means we
will be leaving school by coach at 12:20. To
keep the cost down to a minimum the coach will be picking us up from Wells at 4:15,
after it’s normal school run, so we will be arriving
back at school at 4:45(approx).
You are welcome to come and listen but it is not a performance, it is a
singing workshop. You can pick your child up from the Cathedral anytime before
4:15 if this is more convenient.
There will have to be
a charge to cover the cost of the coach and entrance to the festival, which
will pay towards a Souvenir programme. If you have already given permission for
your child to be photographed they will be included in the programme. The
overall cost will be £5.50.
Please return the
money and form by Wednesday 9th May.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Pearson &
James Anderton
