Merry Go Round - KS1
Children in Year One and Year Two take part in weekly Merry-Go-Round sessions. The children are mixed together and then split into two groups, with each group working on the same theme and skills, usually linked to the term's whole school topic, and taught by the Year One and Two class teachers. The hands-on, creative sessions take place one afternoon per week, and are designed to allow and encourage children to work with different partners in different ways. In addition to improving their subject skills and knowledge, this means the children are also able to develop their problem-solving, group work and social interaction skills.
