The Doulting Marathon

When Katelyn Harris told everyone at St. Aldhelm's that her dad was taking part in the 2007 London Marathon we decided that we, too, would run a marathon, but one with a difference. 196 pupils shared out the 26 miles so that everyone ran as much or as little as they could manage.

In the end we ran 344,500 metres between us (or 238.2 miles) which means we covered 8.6 marathons.

The PTA organised the sponsor forms and provided water to keep the runners going, and older children counted the number of times younger children completed the route around the school site which was lined by parents and friends. The first ever Doulting Marathon was a success!
