The Brass Project

Our children have been learning to play brass instruments since September 2004 when all Year Three children were given brass tuition, free of charge, from Keith Thomas of Somerset Music. The following year we were able to offer the same experience to the new Year Three pupils and continue the project for a further year for the Year Four pupils.

In 2006 we offered brass tuition in school time to pupils in Years Three and Four. The Year Five pupils who wanted to continue were offered lessons before school! 27 out of 31 pupils have taken up this offer so are now receiving their third year of brass tuition.

Our brass players have performed at Strode Theatre, Street and in Wells Cathedral.
