From the Headteacher

Star Work:  Congratulations to Eve Clements, Jordan Vaughan, Jessica Rowe, Ryan Billing, Olly James, Ben Linham, Lizzie May, Molly Barton, Holly Linham, Adam Coubrough, Francis Wood-Johnson and William Mechen who have their work on display in pride of place on our Star Work board.

Sports Days:   The recent poor weather has meant that our field is too wet for us to safely allow the planned sports days to go ahead.   Indeed, some children have yet to set foot on a running track this summer!   Some of our pupils will be participating in the Mendip mini-olympics next week although this too may be subject to cancellation at short notice.

New Headteacher:   You should have received a letter this week from Mr. Savery, Chair of Governors, informing you that Mrs. Mounter was appointed as the new headteacher of St. Aldhelm’s.   I am sure she will be as proud to be head as I have always been.   There will be opportunities for the children to meet Mrs Mounter again before she takes up her post in January.

Swiss Students:   Our three Swiss students finish their short teaching practice today.   Our best wishes go with Meret, Michelle and Luisa as they return to Switzerland and our thanks go to the Marshall, Anderton and Pitman families for hosting the students during their time in England.

Guitar and Piano Concert:   Our guitarists and pianists will be showing off their talents at a short concert next Thursday morning starting at 10.00am.   Parents are welcome to join us for this.

International Meal:   Next Thursday 12th July, Mrs Rowsell is cooking the two favourite International meals from this year.   All children have been offered this meal, free of charge and have placed their orders.   If your child has chosen not to have the meal and you have already ordered a hot meal for this day, they will receive a picnic lunch instead.

Message from the Kitchen:   On the last day of term Mrs Rowsell will be doing picnic lunches for all the children who have ordered dinner as it is the Year Six Leavers picnic.
