NEWSLETTER 35 06/07 21.06.07
From the Headteacher:
Star Work: Congratulations to our single Star Worker of the week: Holly Stowell-Connolly. Holly’s work is on display in pride of place on our Star Work board.
Walk from School: Congratulations once again to all who took part in the ‘Walk Home from School’ last week. I think I massaged the statistics though! 120 is the more realistic figure for children walking home on that day. As this is approximately 60% of the school it is still a very good figure.
INSET day: Don’t forget that tomorrow, Friday, is an INSET day and the school will be closed. Teachers will be at Whitstone for a training day with other teachers from the Shepton Schools.
Swiss students: Thanks to the Anderton, Marshall and Pitman families we are able to host three Swiss students over the next two weeks. The students come from a teacher training college and are here to improve their English and assist in classrooms.
Year Six pupils
will be on their residential trip from Tuesday of next week in
Roger Whitewick
Message from the School Office: Would you kindly return all photos together with payment by Midday on Wednesday 27th June, Failure to do this will require an additional payment and the order will have to be sent off by yourselves.

Aldhelm’s (PTA)

Message from the Treasurer:
We are almost coming to the end of the academic year
and you have raised a tremendous amount of money and given support
to our events - thank you! Our discos to date have made £742
and we still have the 'Beach/Hawaiian' disco yet to come, which I am sure
will be a huge success. Our combined events have made £4,254, the
markets have made £339 and second hand uniform made £37 - a huge profit of
over £5,300 and we still have the Summer Fete,
We are holding our AGM in September and as Treasurer, I will be standing down from this post and so a new one is required. It is important that we fill this role as without a Treasurer the PTA or 'Friends' as we like to be known, cannot legally continue (we have certain obligations to fulfil with the Charities Commission). The role is a busy one, but also extremely rewarding and so please do take the Summer to think about taking on a new challenge and join us, making 2007/2008 just as successful.
Thank you - Janet Reilly
