Star Work: Congratulations to our Star Workers of this week who all have work in display in pride of place on our Star Work Board: Ben Linham, Thomas Manship, Alice Webb, Charlotte Johns, James Pearson, Rebecca Carver,

Cameron Bazley-Jackson.

Y5 Kilve Residential: I was able to join Year 5 pupils for a meal and campfire yesterday evening and everyone reported back on their enjoyable experiences.  My thanks go to Mr Anderton, Mrs Stallard and Mrs Barnett for making sure it was such a good trip.

Y6 SATs: My congratulations to Year Six pupils who completed their SATs tests with dignity and the right attitude.  They took the tests in line with government legislation alongside all other pupils in England.  You might like to know that these tests are compulsory only to pupils in English state schools.  Private schools do not have to take them and the authorities in Wales and Scotland have dropped them.

Reception Class are off to Bristol Zoo on Monday for what promises to be an exciting day.

Brass Lessons: In order for us to make a decision about brass lessons next year please return the form if your child is in Year 3 or 4 if you have not already done so.  Y5 parents need only return a form if your child wishes to continue.

Last weeks' market was a big success and raised a whopping £91.50 in the space of around 45 minutes!  Well done to Year 2 and thank you to those who brought in items to sell and to those who sold them.  It has to be said that this has been the best market since September and the challenge is now on for the next market to beat it...

Our disco on Friday was enjoyed by those who braved the terrible weather.

The face painting was both entertaining and challenging (you should have heard the requests we had!) and the sweets and hot dogs sold well - we made a profit of £128.12.  The final disco of the year is on Friday 13th July (not an unlucky one we hope) and we are planning to have a Themed disco. More news on this later .

Our Sponsored Marathon was also a great success.  We have now counted up all

the money from the sponsorship forms that we have had back and are pleased

to announce that we raised £912.15.  Many thanks to you all, to your

families and to your friends for the very generous donations.  (By the way,

a few of you did pledge some money on the day and have yet to pay it - could

you possibly pop into the office asap and hand in your cash - thanks!)

Thank you to all who cleared out their jewellery boxes, drawers etc. and returned their unwanted or broken items.  The fundraising company have now collected all the items and will recycle them accordingly.  We will let you know in a future newsletter how much was raised.  The winner of the MP3 player was Bethany Lovell.  Well done.

Cranmore and Doulting Pre-School  are holding a beach party disco on Saturday 16th June.  Tickets cost £5 or £6 on the door.  Over 18’s only.  Please come along an join in the fun and help raise funds for the pre-School if interested please see a member of pre-school staff or Julie Biggs (Tel: 01749 880582).  Thank You.
