From
the Headteacher:
Star Work: Congratulations to the
following Star Workers: Tiegan
Mathot-Sankey, Alice Webb, Joe Pillinger, Max Doughty, Owain Porter, Jake
Mathot-Sankey, Michael Hill and Jada Panico.
Their work is on display in pride of place in the central corridor.
New Pupil: Welcome to Danny Willis our
new Doulting and Year Five pupil. I
hope this is the start of a worthwhile relationship between his family and the
school.
World Book Day: Yesterday
was World Book Day and, once again, to celebrate each child was given a book
token which can be used at recognised booksellers and outlets which accept book
tokens. Like last year we shall be
celebrating books and reading later in the year with a special event.
Staffing: Mrs Rhodes has joined us as
our new teacher, ready to take responsibility for Year Two when Mrs Matthews
starts her maternity leave. We are
delighted to have her here and hope she enjoys her time as a St. Aldhelm’s
teacher. Mrs. Yates has rejoined us
after a period of illness. She is
delighted to be able to return. My
thanks to Mrs Pearson who stepped in to ensure stability for Year One.
Parent-Teacher Consultations: Mrs
Matthews will be holding consultations for the parents of Year Two on
Tuesday. For all other classes
consultations will be held in the week beginning 12th March, times
and dates to be specified in a letter to be sent out next week.
Wednesday 7th March is Walk to School day. As part of our campaign to encourage more
walking we shall be leading a controlled walk from Chelynch to school. Expect details from the HOW Committee
members on Monday.
Our Piano and Guitar players will be holding a short concert for family
and friends on Thursday 15th March at 10.00am. I have written to parents of the children
learning these instruments so that they can come and see how much progress our
pupils are making.
