From
the Headteacher
Star Work: Congratulations to the
children whose work is on display in pride of place in the main corridor:
Tiegan Mathot-Sankey, Hazel Papadopoulos, Ellie Pitman, Mason Young, George
Matthew, Rowena Marshall, Robert Edwards and Alice Meen.
Mrs Schantz:
Congratulations also to our French teacher, who has been awarded her MA
with distinction after many hours of burning the midnight oil. Mrs Schantz
studied the impact of teaching a foreign language to children in primary
schools; a subject very close to our hearts at St. Aldhelm’s.
Contact Telephone Numbers: Our
heating system for the main building failed this week due to a faulty gauge on
the oil tanks. A letter explaining the
situation was sent out yesterday and will shortly be placed on the
website. It did highlight the
importance of the school office holding up to date contact information. Home telephone numbers rarely change but
mobile numbers often do. If you should
change mobiles please let us know at the office. In the event we were able to send home the
majority of children from the main building and ensure all others were educated
safely in warm rooms.
Mathematics Problem Solving Day: We are holding a special learning day next
Thursday when the children will be using their mathematical skills in a variety
of ways to solve problems. I hope this
is enjoyable and rewarding for our pupils and that it shows how useful
mathematics can be.

Registration: If your
child arrives in school after registration, for any reason, would you kindly
make sure you bring them to the office in order that they can be marked
present.
