Star Work: Congratulations to this week’s Star Workers Maddy Wood, Rebecca Marshall, Curtis Day, Jack Knapp, Joshua McLoughlin, Owain Porter and Eve Clements whose work is on display in the school’s central corridor.
Poppy Appeal: I have been informed that the British Legion Poppy Appeal raised £848.38 in the Doulting area this year. £34.05 was raised through school. Thank you to all parents and children who participated in this.
Story Tree: All children will be working with a
International Meal: Mrs Rowsell and Mrs Webb will be serving a Jamaican meal on Wednesday.
Wire Workshop: Year Six pupils will be taking part in a wine workshop on Monday with local artist, Fiona Robson. This activity is free to pupils because of the support from NADFAS, the arts organisation which promotes work with artists.
Mr Harris (father of Katelyn in Year 3) is running the London Marathon this year to raise money for our school. This means we will be able to buy more equipment to benefit all the children. Please sponsor Mr. Harris by signing the form at the office or, better still, collect a form and encourage your friends to support too!
Packed Lunches: Please support our healthy eating policy by making sure the packed lunches you provide for your children do not contain sweets. Biscuits and cakes are acceptable but items such as Mars bars, Snickers, bags of sweets etc. should not be encouraged.
Mrs Matthews will be starting her maternity leave in early March and I have appointed Mrs B Rhodes to take up teaching duties in Year Two. Mrs Rhodes is known to many of the children as an effective supply teacher, although she has not been in school for well over a year as she has been working on long term contracts elsewhere. I have managed to persuade her to return to St. Aldhelm’s.
