WSLETTER 30 05/06 12.05.06
From the Headteacher:
Star Work: Congratulations to our Star Workers of this week: Georgiana Glasspool and Georgina Biggs.
Residential Trip: I was lucky enough to spend yesterday evening at Kilve with our Year Five pupils who were in the middle of their residential experience. Everyone was full of excitement and I heard lots of stories about the fun things they had been doing. My thanks to Miss Wickham, who organised the trip, and to Mrs Stallard and Mrs Barnett for making such a residential experience possible.
Year Six: Congratulations are to due all Year Six pupils who completed their SATs this week. This is not the most pleasant of weeks for our older children but they have faced the tests without complaint. We await the results with interest.
Followers: After a few changes to routine I can now inform you that Followers will recommence at lunchtimes starting next Wednesday. Jared, the church youth worker, and Mrs Chloe Baker from the church will be running the group.
School Photographs: The school photographer will be in school on Monday 22nd May to take photographs of our pupils in class, family, and individual poses. A letter giving you further details will be sent to you next week

Friends of St. Aldhelm’s: Last weeks disco was a huge success. After deductions, we made £259.09 which is an incredible amount. Thank you to all those parents who helped and thank you as usual to Mr Whitewick and Mr Knowles for keeping everyone in check. It was a hot evening, but we hope everyone had lots of fun.
The market on the 28 April raised £40.10 - again, a big thank you to those parents who baked and bought. The next market will be on Friday 26th May and this will be responsibility of Year 4. Any donations of cookies, cakes, plants, vegetables etc. will be gratefully received.
Our fundraising efforts have been extremely successful this year
and we have a few more events planned before the end of term which include the
Giant Sleepover, the Summer Fete, Collett Park, Bag 2 School, Sponsored
Bounce as well as the usual Friday markets. In an earlier
newsletter, we mentioned that we had a massive target to aim for and more
information about this will be in next week’s newsletter. We hope
that we can count on your continued support until the end of term in order that
we reach our goal!

Dear Parent
In the last few weeks Year 3 children at St Aldhelm’s have been busy producing an Artwork that will be going on display as part of the Bradfords Primary Schools Art Project 2006.
Bradfords Building Supplies at Evercreech have designed nine gardens for their annual patio and landscaping display and have allocated a garden to each of the nine local schools. These schools have been tasked with producing an artistic backdrop to their garden with the chance of winning a prize for their school.
The artwork will be on show from May 15th and Bradford will be inviting all customers and visitors to the branch to vote for their three favourite backdrops. The voting will cease on June 10th and the results will be compiled.
Bradfords are holding an open day on Wednesday 14th June which will be the prize giving day for the three schools who achieve the most votes. The three winners will all secure a prize and a trophy for their school with the outright 1st placed school getting to hold the Bradfords Challenge Trophy for a year. The prize-giving will be at 2.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend the day which will also feature free refreshments, product demonstrations and a grand prize draw.
During the four weeks of voting we invite parents and friends of the school to visit Bradfords, pick up a voting slip and support the school by casting your vote.
The children from all nine schools have worked hard to produce their artwork and will undoubtedly appreciate your interest and support.
