Dave
is a gift from Framptons, a local company, who had commissioned local
artist Geoff Body to produce a flockof stone sheep as a centre-piece
for a Shepton Mallet roundabout that they have kindly agreed to maintain.
Dave
was a spare sheep after Geoff had made all the models and was kindly
offered to the school by Teresa Body, who works here as a Learning Support
Assistant.
How
did he become a Dave? The school ran a competition for the children.
The winning name? Why, Dave of course!
Winning entry? Jay Clacee-Rowe in Year 4.
The
school raised £27 in entry fees for CHILDLINE, its charity for
the year.
Dave
now welcomes visitors and children to the school from his position on
the bank near the school entrance.
